Electrical EngineerDepartment: Spokane Engineering and Research (00271)Position SummaryThe Electrical Engineer is responsible for material handling and stationary fuel cell product development.

This includes conception, design, prototype development, unit and system testing, and product release.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesExperience with analog and microprocessor design and estimating cost and effort in new designs.Ability to review technical documentation in order to find new libraries and parts.Designs and drafts layout for printed circuit boards according to engineering specifications, utilizing knowledge of electronics, drafting, and PCB design.Performs reviews and analyzes engineering design schematics and supporting documents to plan layout of PCB components and printed circuitry.Confers with engineering staff to resolve design details and problems.Troubleshoot existing designs and circuits to resolve issues or improve performance.Drafts detailed drawings and composes master layout of design components and circuitry.Examines and verifies master layout for electrical and mechanical accuracy.May prepare copies of drawings for use in PCB fabrication and support design reviewsAbility to discuss and get information from other team members including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Test Engineering, Product Development and Management.Be able to create and implement test plans for verifying designs.Education and Experience0-4 years of related work history preferably within a technology product manufacturing environment or an Associate’s degree in engineering or other relevant technical field of studyBSEE degree preferred, but not required.Proficiency with CAD software
– Altium and Creo/SolidWorks preferredExperience with database management, configuration control, documentation controlEffective communication abilities; strength in communicating complex concepts in an understandable formExperience with a structured Engineering Change Process and related proceduresKnowledge of electrical components and mechanical/sheet metal parts is a plusSupreme organizational abilities and attention to detailTeamwork oriented and focusedResults-oriented and driven work styleExcellent task-oriented follow-throughQuick learner with enthusiastic attitude with ability to multi-taskComputer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Plug Power, Inc.
