In this position, you will provide direct treatment services in an inpatient setting to adults who are experiencing serious and chronic mental disorders.

Provides Supervision/direction to all other staff on shift.

Reports to the Facility Lead/Charge Nurse and Nurse Manager as directed.

– WEEKDAY NIGHTS
– Monday
– Friday
– 11PM -7:30 AM

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES includes but are not limited to the following:
Provides direct onsite supervision of all staff on assigned shift.
Communicates to all staff on shift regarding all admits/discharges of Consumers.
Directs and coordinates staff assignments for all tasks associated with admits/discharges and patient care during assigned shift.
Identifies and communicates any medical concerns that Consumers are experiencing and makes referrals to Medical ARNP via Clip board
– or transfers to local Emergency Department as indicated.
Provides leadership and direction in any emergency situation at the facility contacting On-call Supervisor as indicated for all after-hours concerns.
Ensures the maintenance of a safe working environment, including but not limited to safe clinical and nursing practices, maintaining a clean working and care environment and ensuring staff participation and compliance with safety protocols, training and drills.
Assumes responsibilities for all staffing coverage issues occurring on assigned, including but not limited to finding coverage for calls received on assigned shift that relate to coming shifts.
Provides medication assessment, evaluation and management to clients with persistent mental illness.
Ensures that pertinent medication related information is conveyed to hospital staff in the event of consumer hospitalization.
Maintains the security of medication storage by following FBH medical services protocol and procedures
Provides liaison and coordination between psychiatric services, PCP’s, and clients in regard to medical issues.
Provides clinical direction, consultation, and training to licensed practical nursing staff as defined by nursing standards of practice, and as assigned by supervisor.
Provides/assists with the provision of all supervision required by staff on assigned shift including but not limited to; clinical supervision, performance review and evaluation, recognition and disciplinary action, scheduling, staff training and development,
Meets minimum direct service percent time as defined by management.
Develops referral sources with appropriate agencies.
Assists in development and delivery of client education in the form of classes, groups and trainings.
Performs FBH charting requirements, correspondence, SALs and other paperwork in a complete and timely manner.
QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:
REQUIRED:
RN licensed in the State of Washington.
Three years of experience working in a psychiatric setting required.
Demonstrated expertise or training in assessment, evaluation, or triage skills.
Working knowledge of psychotropic medications, their uses, and side effects.
Must meet WAC requirements for a Mental Health Professional.
PREFERRED:
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
