Demonstrate respect for the capabilities, different cultures and or personalities of co-workers and Medical Center publics within the mission/values of PSHMCPromote and demonstrate effective, open and honest written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrate self-management behaviors which reflect a positive image of PSHMC, following established policies and procedures and promote an efficient, cost effective work environmentDemonstrate good stewardship of resources by treating property of customers, Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and co-workers with care and respectWork cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of staff and other disciplines for problem solving without blamingDemonstrate flexibility by readily adapting to different situations to complete workScrub, monitor and circulate on the following procedures considering the age and culture of the patient:Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterization (LHC, BHC, RHC)Interventional Cardiac Procedures (PTCA/Stent, Brachytherapy, Atherectomy)Pacemakers/Internal defibrillatorsIntra-aortic balloonPercutaneous balloon ValvuloplastyPediatric catheterizationCoil and closure devicesTemporary PacemakersEndomyocardial BiopsyPeripheral vascular diagnostic and interventional studiesInsertion arterial/venous line, central line, Swan-Ganz, Vas CathSheath removal and puncture site dressingProficient in the operation and maintenance, as specified by the manufacturer, of all diagnostic and therapeutic equipment used for proceduresRecognize basic rhythms and hemodynamic pressure tracingsClean room, empty linen and show proper disposal of instrument traysProvide patient/family education pre and post procedureCorrectly check name and allergy bans, obtain initial patient assessment and informationAdapt procedures to meet individual needs of neonates (0-1 month) infants (1 month to age 1) toddlers (1-2 years), preschoolers (3-5 years), school age (6-12 years) of adolescents (ages 13-17) and adult patients including early adult (ages 18-35) middle adult (ages 36-65) and older adult (ages 66 ) patients for treatment and selects equipment/supplies considering patient’s age, size, pre-existing conditions and procedures to be performedCorrectly label all medications/ drugs/ contrast on sterile table and administers medications as asked by the physician, verifying all medicationsAble to handle emergency situations during high risk proceduresAble to work as a team member, assist physicians and assist with interpretation of data collectedNotify physician of rhythm changes during procedureKnow location of procedure room equipment and suppliesStock procedure rooms and maintains adequate stock levelsMaintain radiation safety for patient and visitorsWear radiation protection and film badge consistentlyCheck personal radiation protection (lead apron) annually, documenting result and notifying supervisor of defective equipmentMaintain proper sterile techniqueAccurately document in Op-report, Witt Log, Optiflex billing and chartAccurately bills procedures and suppliesCorrectly witnesses drug waste with CVRNTransfer images to Xcelera at the end of each case and make hard copy CD of procedurePosition patients in a manner which is safe, utilizing the appropriate safe patient handling equipment and technique, allowing patients to be comfortable both physically and emotionallyMay transport patients to and from departments utilizing proper techniques of body mechanics to protect patients and personal safetyQualifications:Required qualifications for this position include:Graduate of an accredited School of Cardiovascular Technology OR 5 years of experienceMust apply for and obtain a Washington State Department of Health Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Certification upon hireBasic Life Support (BLS) completed annuallyCurrent ACLSAbout the hospital you will serve.Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children’s Hospital hasa commanding presence in Spokane, Washington and is a beacon of hope and healing for patients throughout the region.
