Human Resource Benefits Administrator

The Allergy business is a worldwide leader in the manufacture of allergenic extracts, targeted primarily at treating allergies and asthma. The Human Resources Benefits Administrator is responsible for the administration of company benefits and programs. The Benefits Administrator assists the Human Resources management team with various activities and must maintain a strict level of confidentiality due to the nature of the information handled. This position interacts individually with all levels of employees and managers, and interfaces with external sources such as benefit providers, administrators, and other contracted vendors. Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Benefit Administration: Timely payroll processing of benefit elections. Assist employees in resolving issues regarding their coverage. Review and reconcile invoices from all benefit providers to assure accurate billing for premiums.
  • Administration of Reimbursement Policies for Educational Assistance and Health Club Memberships. Verify documentation to assure compliance to company policies and guidelines. Maintain accurate records of all reimbursements. Process requests for reimbursements in a timely manner to assure minimization of financial burden on employees.
  • Coordinate bi-annual employee health screenings, ensure Wellness Program guideline is current and employee discounts are applied properly.
  • Lead yearly Open Enrollment activities including coordinating interface with ADP to ensure benefit plans are updated and employee benefit elections are complete and transmitted to benefit providers within enrollment deadlines.
  • Employee Salary and Position Activity: Provide timely processing onto payroll/HRIS systems of all employee activity such as new hires, promotions, terminations, transfers, etc.
  • Employee Separation Process: Preparing exit paperwork for exiting employees. Enter employee terminations into COBRA/FSA Discovery website.
  • Reports: Provide bi-weekly and monthly employee status and specialized information reports.
  • Employee Files: Maintain employee benefit files with current information.
  • Leave of Absence coordination.
  • Interface directly with Payroll in the accurate and timely process of salary-related changes and benefit deductions.
  • Assist Human Resources management team as requested.


  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Management or related desired.
  • A minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Strong aptitude for learning, understanding, and utilizing HRIS/Payroll systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are necessary for this position due to the interaction with all levels of employees and management as well as external contacts.
  • Proven attention to detail is critical for success in this role.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 20 pounds unassisted. Computer use, including monitor and keyboard. Repetitive typing activity. Prolonged sitting. Minimal travel required.
