Human Resource Specialist

Spokane Airport

This is a Full-time position in Spokane, WA posted April 10, 2021.

nnProvides guidance and coordination in the consistent and effective application of policies, procedures, and practices of he human resource function to support the Airports’ mission.nn Examples of Duties / Knowledge & Skills Manages recruitment efforts.

Initiates applicant tracking system and assists managers in using the system.

Completes reference and background checks.

Posts recruitment to appropriate advertisement channels.

Maintains communication with candidates including scheduling assessment testing, interviews and notification of recruitment closure.

Handles travel and relocation process.

Administers programs such affirmative action, worker’s compensation, and unemployment.

Conducts employee onboarding and helps organize training & development initiatives.

Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics and assists in resolving issues that may arise.

Promotes human resource programs including wellness initiative.

Assists in development and implementation of human resource policies.

Gathers and analyzes data with useful HR metrics.

Maintains employee files and records in electronic and paper form Ensures compliance with labor regulations.

Provides support for human resource functions.

Assists in gathering information and compiling reports.

Maintains human resource databases and computer programs from input to generating reports.

Records benefit changes and generates notices.

Assists employees with benefits questions.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications & Requirements nnEducation/Experience: nn Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or organizational development.

A minimum of 2 years of human resource experience organizing/coordinating multiple, concurrent activities.

A combination of education and experience may be considered in meeting the requirements for this position.

Certification as Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) preferred.

Must possess a valid state driver license, free of serious or frequent traffic violations.

Knowledge/Skills: Present in a professional manner and with excellent interpersonal skills in order to establish and maintain working relationships with others.

Deliver excellent internal and external customer service.

Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Knowledge of human resource management methods, principles, and practices.

Knowledge of relationship between human resources and payroll functions.

Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations and laws affecting human resources.

Be a self-starter and able to work independently and with a team.

Work as a contributing, collaborative member of a team.

Able to perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines and changing priorities.

Prioritize a variety of tasks with little supervision and use good judgment.

Ability to interpret statistics and develop and prepare clear and accurate reports.

Organize information into a coherent and meaningful format with attention to detail.

Use spreadsheets, word processing, and database computer software programs at an advanced level.

Make correct entries in software; detect and correct errors.

Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Read, write, speak and understand English.

Able to quickly learn and retain concepts that may be unfamiliar.

Physical Requirements: Requires the ability to lift, carry, push and pull objects up to 30 pounds.

Job functions require sitting for extended periods, but also involve standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting, walking, carrying, and reaching.

Extensive wrist and hand movements required for frequent keyboarding and use of office equipment.

Ability to perform close work to file, read and use computer required.

Ability to continuously exchange information through listening and talking with customers, coworkers, representatives of community organizations and other individuals required.

Ability to be mobile community wide for appropriate business needs required.
