Business Intelligence Developer

This role is a data engineer, with an emphasis on data modeling. Your primary focus will be design, implementation, leadership, guidance, and support for SQL databases. This includes both OLTP and OLAP systems. In addition, this role is responsible for design, implementation, and thought leadership for reporting solutions. This ranges from guiding application teams towards appropriate operational reporting solutions, to full development of enterprise-level reporting solutions (including, but not limited to, all tools in the Microsoft BI Stack: SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, PowerBI, and master data management). Tertiary responsibilities may include general support and administration of SQL Servers, including on-call responsibilities. 

Responsibilities: 

• Data modeling. 
• System, data, and business analysis. 
• BI development, including ETL, reporting solutions, and master data management.  
• Assist in the design, coding, testing, support, and documentation of SEL Business Systems. 
• Provide support to both coworkers within the Information Services department, as well as business users.  
• Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and Agile Software Development principles.  
• Understand, create, and simplify processes. 
• Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:   

• Working knowledge of database design concepts – normalization and dimensional modeling
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, CS, or a related field or equivalent practical experience
• 2+ years’ experience with database and/or BI development, including:  
• Relational and/or dimensional data modelling
• Microsoft BI stack (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, PowerBI)
• Software development best practices (source control, change management, Agile development, etc.)
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
• Attention to detail 
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
• Background check results satisfactory to SEL
• Negative drug test result(s)
