Brooklyn Iron Works has an opening for a combination Purchasing Agent and CNC Programmer.

This is a somewhat unique position that would provide an opportunity to learn and support multiple areas of the steel fabrication business.

The ideal candidate would have both supply chain and CAD experience, but we will train a highly motivated and teachable individual.

A successful applicant would be joining a Programming team.

Utilization of AutoCAD and similar, industry-specific software every day, and general geometric problem solving, drafting, and blueprint reading skills would be applied.

The additional Purchasing responsibilities would include managing inventory, maintaining transaction records, procuring materials, issuing work orders, and building and maintaining relationships with material suppliers.

Overall, this position requires, first and foremost, a critical eye and the ability to maintain careful attention to detail.

Strong computer skills and some facility with math and geometry are also needed.

A successful candidate must be a problem solver, eager to learn, goal oriented, and have an attitude of continuous improvement.

Excellent written and spoken communications skills are a must.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00
– $29.00 per hour
