Skils’kin is currently looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist/Representative Payee Clerk to join our Payee Services team.The Accounts Payable Specialist – Representative Payee Clerk works in direct service of disabled clients and coordinates efforts with other team members to manage clients’ benefits. The ideal candidate is a highly organized individual with practical experience in accounting, accounts payable, bookkeeping, or banking, including use of Excel, Quicken, or other accounting and budgeting software. This person also has excellent interpersonal skills.In this position, you will assist vulnerable adults with their finances. Many of your clients are facing large financial barriers due to disabilities, chronic homelessness, substance abuse, or mental health issues.This role is both challenging and rewarding. We are looking for someone who can thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment dedicated to excellent client service.Duties & Responsibilities:Assume primary responsibility for all incoming client calls, address client financial needs, and if needed, transfers calls to appropriate team members.Assume primary responsibility for all scheduled invoices.Follow procedures for processing client and vendor payments for approval and disbursement.Completion of Social Security Administration short-form medical reviews.Provide excellent customer service to clients.Facilitate the team process and consensus building through collaboration, communication, mentoring, problem solving, and conflict resolution, valuing each person’s contribution.Education/Experience Required:High school diploma or GED is required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred. Extensive practical experience in accounting, accounts payable, bookkeeping, or banking, including use of Excel, Quicken, or other accounting and budgeting software may be substituted for education.Must possess strong time-management skills, be well organized and dependable.Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and communicate with diverse populations. Empathetic, but firm, customer-service is a must.Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.Previous knowledge of Social Security Administration and the responsibilities of a Representative Payee required.Other Requirements:Must be at least 18 years of age.Must pass background check.Empathy for those with disabilities or disadvantages required.Compensation & BenefitsThis is an hourly/non-exempt position with pay issued every two weeks. Work hours may vary depending on work assignments and schedule needs.Employees also earn paid time off (vacation and sick leave).
