Marshallese Community Outreach – Community Worker 2

This is a Full-time position in spokane, wa posted March 31, 2021.

This project position is funded through 12/31/2021 Provide outreach within priority populations, engaging residents who are Marshallese and provide access to resources through public health and community partners.

Outreach and Coordination Meet and engage Marshallese individuals and leaders from a wide range of sectors (churches, businesses, schools, community organizations, community groups, etc.) throughout community about health.

Working closely with SRHD staff, coordinate and support non-medical needs with individuals at risk for COVID within the Marshallese communities.

Access community resources to meet identified needs of individuals.

Refer individuals to medical providers and SRHD as appropriate based on identified health service needs.

Education and Communication Provide education on COVID-19 prevention, isolation/quarantine measures, and vaccinations.

Support the communities with current information, working closely with key members.

Assist with translations and interpreters to provide clear communication.

Maintain communication with SRHD staff, partners/agencies, and supervisors.

Community Organization Organize and provide direction to community groups to support the control of the COVID-19 outbreaks and vaccination efforts.

Arrange and facilitate individual or group meetings with key members present.

Misc.

Attend staff meetings and workgroups to organize and coordinate outreach.

Keep basic record keeping.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED.

3 years of relevant experience working with the targeted population or related experience with some knowledge of the needs, concerns, and attitudes of the targeted population.

Bi-lingual in English and Marshallese required.

Required Licensure/Certification: Community health worker certificate preferred.

Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
