Supports the Chief Diversity Officer on matters of strategic importance, and shares information with the Chief Diversity Officer on key DEI projects and initiatives taking place across the University.Under the direction of the Chief Diversity Officer, the Associate Chief Diversity Officer co-leads the university’s commitment to provide culturally diverse, inclusive, and welcoming environments for the university’s workforce, student body, learning spaces, programs, services and partnerships.

The Associate Chief Diversity Officer is responsible for implementing the university’s vision, strategic goals and objectives that integrates the educational value of a diverse and inclusive learning environment through collaborative engagement with faculty, staff and students.The primary areas of accountability include assessment, advocacy and education through research, programming, and student and workforce development.

The Associate Chief Diversity Officer serves as a leading advisor and subject matter expert to university management, staff, faculty and students in the areas of diversity, inclusion, and equity.

The incumbent manages key diversity related staff departments to provide services and programming to students, faculty and staff.The primary areas of accountability include management of office and staff, assessment, advocacy and education through research, programming, and student and workforce development.

The Assistant Provost serves as chief advisor and subject matter expert to university management, staff, faculty and students in the areas of diversity, inclusion, and equity.

The incumbent manages key diversity related staff departments to provide services and programming to students, faculty and staff.

The Assistant Provost will possess an advanced degree (an earned doctorate or equivalent terminal degree); a track record of, and a deep commitment to, developing high impact diversity and inclusion initiatives for faculty, students, and staff; excellent interpersonal and communications skills; and abilities to inspire and influence others.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate cultural intelligence, intercultural agility, and emotional intelligence to cultivate trust and credibility through collaborating with a wide variety of stakeholders working in a robust organizational context in the midst of fluidity and change.Minimum Qualifications:
• Terminal degree
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in higher education administration, teaching, and/or leadership position.

Or equivalent relevant experience.
• Demonstrated leadership and experience in advancing equity, diversity and inclusion within a complex organization.
• Demonstrated understanding of the elements and dynamics of organizational change.
• Demonstrated success in developing educational programming with and for diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to research, identify and implement best practices of equity, diversity and inclusion.
• Experience implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion programs and initiatives
• Must have strong understanding of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the 1991 Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, and other applicable laws.
• Experience interacting with and incorporating the voices of students and student groups, particularly students of color, and other marginalized student groups, including students with disabilities.Desired Qualifications:
• Experience leading or participating in significant organizational change.
• Experience with equity and inclusion planning in higher education.
• Three (3) years teaching experience at the collegiate level.
• Experience with intercultural issues, International Education, Study Abroad.
• Demonstrated ability to cross organizational and cultural boundaries with ease, adapting language and style to context.
• Demonstrated knowledge of training, organizational development, conflict resolution methods.
• Demonstrated knowledge of issues of social justice, diversity, and inclusive excellence as fundamental aspects of academic excellence is preferred.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with individual and groups across campus and in the community,
