The Core Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating, evaluating, and delegating the delivery of skilled patient care. This position is directly accountable and responsible for the quality of care provided to patients and has the authority to direct care, provide education, seek resources at the unit/department level, and delegate appropriate tasks. The Core Nurse, using specialized knowledge, can perform the activities of administration, supervision, delegation and evaluation of nursing practice. This position requires substantial specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills; and critical thinking skills in making decisions regarding patient care, which includes knowledge and integration of relevant standards, resources, and data. Position collaborates with patients, families, patient care team, community/regulatory agencies to ensure safe, timely, efficient, effective patient-centered quality outcomes.Minimum Requirements:One-year experience in Acute Care setting required Education/Licenses/Certifications:Current Registered Nurse Licensure in the State of WashingtonBSN requiredIf the Core Charge Nurse does not have a BSN at the time of hire. BSN must be completed within 3 years of accepting the position. Continuous enrollment in an accredited nursing program within 6 months of accepting the position.Current Health Care Provider level CPR certificationACLS or NALS or PALS or TNCC certification, as required by facility or departmentCertification in specialty area required in 3 years.MultiCare is an equal opportunity employer.
