Work Hours/Shift: Full-Time/Days You Will Be Responsible For: Facilitates the development of the Emergency program through teaching, coaching, and role modeling.

Assists with the on-boarding, training and professional development of staff.

Educates patients and their families regarding clinical aspects of their disease, purpose, and nature of treatment and research protocols.

Educates patients and their families on device and device-related equipment providing reinforcement on how to care for themselves and provides feedback on their progress Pro-actively initiates quality improvement ideas and suggestions in an effort to improve the patient experience of care (including quality and satisfaction), improve the health of the populations served and reduce the cost of clinic care.

Actively participates in surveys (on-site and desktop) from regulatory and licensing agencies.

Assists with discharge planning with the multi-disciplinary team, plans, and implements and evaluates patient and family-specific care appropriate to the complexity of the problems and resources available.

Actively participates in neurological equipment and device accessory management Participates in industry-sponsored research-related protocols and maintenance of the Emergency statistical databases including patient recruitment for studies and assisting with the execution of all study-related activities per protocol.

Participates with the ongoing education of internal and external stakeholders in the care of Nero patients.

Educates nurses and other multidisciplinary team members about patient care issues to promote positive outcomes for patients.

SERVICE: Communicates with courtesy when interacting with internal or external customers—in person or on the telephone.

Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments.

Demonstrates organizational commitment standards and values.

PEOPLE: Demonstrate collaboration and teamwork in managing patient flow-i.e.

promotes timely patient placement by following hospital policy for patient admission, discharge and transfer.

Communicates changes, new procedures, and processes for the nursing division, service line, and team to staff.

Provides required documentation for personnel file in a timely manner.

Utilizes time effectively and accomplishes duties in necessary timeframe with minimal supervision.

Assists staff in the delivery of patient care: assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Mentors and coaches team members to successfully manage patient needs.

FINANCE: Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services.

OUTCOMES: Assures that reportable events occurring within the department are properly reported to Risk Management within the time required by law.

Documentation meets criteria for core measure, charges, PI, and all quality/regulatory standards as measured by chart audits.

Promotes staff development through patient care assignments, acting as a clinical resource and role model, identifying educational needs and ensuring staff attendance at educational in-services.

Encourages and supports front-line decision making.

Provides staff in-services on a regular basis.

Keeps abreast of pertinent changes related to clinical information from CMS and other regulatory agencies.

Initiates strategies and tactics with the nursing staff to support core measure performance.

Monitors concurrent Core Measure interventions and outcomes, prepares reports as needed.

Works closely with performance measurement coordinators to facilitate core measurement data abstraction.

Acts as team leader for the performance measurement coordinators as needed to sustain benchmarks.

Qualifications What You Will Need: KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED : Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, AND Valid AHA Advanced life support certification (ACLS, PALS, NRP) per specialty/unit requirements.

High level of Emergency nursing knowledge base.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED : RN Two years of Emergency/ Stroke experience ADN with agreement to obtain BSN within 2 years of hire date.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: BSN MSN/PHD TNCC/ENPC/CEN One year of teaching/preceptor experience LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED : Florida Nursing License Job Summary: Emergency Services Coordinator/ Educator major function is to assess and analysis the neurological service programs data and outcomes.

Through an ongoing assessment develop continuous improvements for a highly reliable, more efficient, and better patient outcome.

Emergency Services Coordinator/ Educator through collaboration, and knowledge of industry standards helps establish clinical best practices.
