THIS IS STRICTLY A MOBILE PHLEBOTOMIST POSITION. SERVICES WILL COVER THE GREATER SPOKANE COEUR D’ALENE AREAS.Day time positionGeneral Summary:As a Mobile Phlebotomist you will travel to specified locations and draw blood samples from patients and perform a variety of procedures, including venipuncture, dermal punctures, and POCT used in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases from patients of all ages. You will also be responsible for collecting and processing laboratory specimens in an accurate and timely manner, and maintaining accurate records in accordance with established policies, procedures and regulations.Minimum Qualifications: (knowledge, skills, and abilities)High school diploma or equivalent.Reliable transportation.Current MA-P certification from the Washington Department of Health. (For Washington only)Ability to work with individuals at all organizational levels, particularly peers, team members, supervisors, managers, and other departments.Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Self-directed, open to new learning experiences, and demonstrate teamwork, and exceptional customer service.Ability to multitask while maintaining quality and efficiency.Preferred QualificationsPrevious laboratory experiencePrior Mobile Phlebotomy experienceAnatomy and Physiology, Medical TerminologyAbility to work five shifts/week, including some weekendsCompletion of accredited Phlebotomy training program and clinical rotationEssential Job Responsibilities:Travel for workSpecimen collection, handling, and processingAssist in maintaining laboratory areas, equipment, and suppliesParticipate in committees and task forcesEasily adapt to new and changing roles, responsibilities, demands, and technologiesKeep current on regulatory requirementsPerformance Requirements:Travel for work.This position requires the Phlebotomist to travel to Skilled Nursing Facilities, Adult Family Homes, and to the patient’s home to collect the requested samples for testing. The mobile phlebotomist would be required to travel to and from these locations using their personal vehicle. Incyte Diagnostics will reimburse mileage.Specimen collection, handling, and processingCommunicate with and assist patients in a professional and courteous manner to explain the phlebotomy process, and provide support to obtain the requested specimens.Utilize standard procedures to establish correct patient identification and record appropriate collection information on the electronic or paper requisition.Obtain blood specimens from patients as required using established blood-drawing techniques using standard equipment such as tourniquets, vacutainer tubes, capillary tubes, syringes, and butterfly needles.Adhere to strict procedures and practice of safety precautions to prevent the transmission of infectious diseases.Follow standard policies and procedures when performing point of care testing.Assist with the collection, labeling, processing and transportation of other laboratory specimens such as body fluids.Consult Incyte’s Test Directory or referral laboratory directories when there are any questions on how to collect and process test samples.Perform various quality control procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations.Maintain and clean equipment and instruments as per established procedures and manufacturer’s instructions.Responsible for performing tasks that are within the scope of his/her educational preparation, knowledge and permitted by the policies and procedures of Incyte Diagnostics, and other local, state, and federal guidelines.Assist in maintaining laboratory areas, equipment, and suppliesPerform various housekeeping and/or maintenance tasks to keep Patient Service Centers and equipment in clean and operable condition, ensuring those schedules are met.Record required information on laboratory log sheets to ensure quality assurance of specimen handling and test analysis.Identify, analyze, troubleshoot and solve problems concerning specimen collection and equipment malfunctions.Maintain inventory of supplies, materials and equipment as needed.Participate in committees and task forcesWork effectively in a team setting.Attend mandatory programs and laboratory staff meetings.Recognize and respond to opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of service.Participate as needed in special projects requiring data collection, analysis and presentation of conclusions.Easily adapt to new and changing roles, responsibilities, demands, and technologiesContinuously update knowledge of specimen collection techniques.Anticipate and prevent problems independently by taking corrective actions before crises occur and also notifying Supervisor should further preventative action be necessary to avoid problems in the future.Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of mobile phlebotomy workflow by exercising discernment in determining when to assist coworkers or when to engage in other work-related activities.Assist in training employees in areas of proven competency, as approved and documented by the supervisor.Open to modifying work schedule to meet the needs of the business.Keep current on regulatory requirementsBecome knowledgeable of and comply with all Incyte Diagnostic’s company policies and practicesExhibit ethical behavior and maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and Incyte’s Code of ConductHelp facilitate and manage own training and training documentationMeet or exceed the required Continuing Education requirementsEEO Notification Incyte Diagnostics is an EOE, including disability/vetsIncyte Diagnostics is an EEO employer – M/F/Veteran/Disability/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity
