Position Summary:

We are seeking a Vice President of Supply Chain with demonstrated success in helping take a company through a high growth phase with increasing complexity in their operations.

The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge, experience and understanding of best-in-class supply chain practices to facilitate efficiencies and reduced costs across our Supply Chain.

This will be a critical role in building in world-class supply chain and retail operations team supporting all business units across Kaspien including our Retail, Subscriptions, Private Label and Drop Ship divisions.

We are looking for a candidate who embodies our leadership principals across the board and thrives in an ever changing, constantly evolving and fast-paced environment.

This position will be highly visible, reporting directly to the COO with direct responsibility and ownership over these divisions of our supply chain organization:

  • Inventory Management and Demand Planning
  • Logistics and Transportation
  • Warehouse Operations

This position is remote through the COVID-19 pandemic, and will then be located at the Kaspien HQ in Spokane Valley, WA.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee several supporting departments of our Supply Chain organization including, Inventory Management, Demand Planning (Buyers), Logistics and Transportation, Warehousing Operations.
  • Own our supply chain and purchasing algorithms to optimize purchasing levels to specific turn rate and in-stock targets across the organization and its’ businesses.
  • Oversee both internal warehouse and processing facility service levels as well as remote partnered 3PL relationships.
  • Help strategize and grow our global logistics function to optimize freight consolidation internationally.
  • Drive innovation across our supply chain logic to optimize working capital
  • Work cross-functionally with Accounting and Finance to manage and ensure alignment with Kaspien’s Open to Buy framework
  • Improve processes across teams (both direct and indirect) to drive efficiencies and facilitate scale.
  • Work closely with Executive team to prepare Board of Director deliverables.

Requirements

Knowledge, Education, and Experience:

  • BA/BS degree or higher required
  • Demonstrated success and experience in a Sr.

    leadership role within an e-commerce supply chain role

  • Experience refining and optimizing purchasing and supply chain logic to optimize Inventory Turn Rates and In-stock rates
  • Experience leading multiple teams and working cross-functionally within them with upwards of 50+ employees.
  • Experience managing a remote team.
  • Preferred Experience:
  • Marketplace (Amazon) specifically
  • Seller Fulfilled Prime experience

Required Skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to lead business reviews across cross functional teams (Weekly and Monthly Business Reviews) specifically for Supply Chain performance and initiatives
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively and collaboratively
  • Develop supply chain scorecards and KPI’s to measure supply chain performance and improvement
  • Extremely detail and process oriented

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 20-30 employees in both a local (domestic) and remote (international) environment.

Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced, deadline oriented office environment; currently remote through COVID-19.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to regularly talk, hear, see and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse
  • Occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 15 pounds
