Role and ResponsibilitiesThe Membership Sales Representative is responsible for developing leads for prospective members, providing information to prospective members, and enrolling new members.

This person also assists management in meeting membership and financial objectives.

This person is responsive to both current and prospective members maintaining Active’s highest standards of customer service.Specific ResponsibilitiesEssential FunctionsActively develop leads for prospective membersRespond to telephone and e-mail membership inquiries, booking and maintaining appointments for prospective members to tour the clubProvide prospective members with an enthusiastic and informative tourEmpower and educate prospective members on the benefits of health and wellnessPresent approved membership options and prices to prospective membersComplete all membership paperwork for new members, including application and orientation requirementsTrack and report daily membership salesDistribute passes, fliers, and other materials to create traffic flow of prospective membersDevelop relationships and encourage member referralsAttend management meetings, training, and retreatsGenerate leads to the Corporate Sales Department to help open accounts, working with the Corporate Sales Director and Regional Accounts Manager to develop new corporate accountsProvide ongoing maintenance for assigned existing corporate accounts including regular contact with Corporate Ambassadors, distribution of fliers and passesMaintain and submit a commission log each pay period, including all necessary backup paperwork such as copies of membership applicationsMake follow-up calls to all prospective members who failed to show for their appointments, and all guests who have not yet enrolledAdminister emergency care to members and guests in need of assistanceWork as a TEAM with all other departmentsOther duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisorOther FunctionsBe knowledgeable about all programs and activities offered by Active WellnessPromote club services and activitiesPerform routine maintenance of equipmentAssist with keeping the club well stocked and cleanAttend Active Wellness site meetings and trainingsHandle injury and illness and security incident reportingRequirements:Qualifications and Education RequirementsCollege college degree preferred or fitness related field preferredAA degree or equivalent education and experience2-year management/sales experience in the fitness industry, Active employment a plusBasic accounting skills, customer service skills, results-oriented, basic computer skills, ability to multi-task, and commitment to the fitness industryCommunication skills, basic computer skills, phone etiquette, customer service orientated, committed to fitness industry/environmentMust be detail oriented, organized and highly responsive with a commitment to customer serviceStrong verbal communication skillsBasic computer skills, customer service skills, results-oriented, ability to multitask, and commitment to the fitness industryAED/CPR/First Aid CertifiedProof of citizenship or legal statusPhysical and Working ConditionsAbility to take the responsibility for the health and safety of othersAbility to stand for several hours in the same shift; ability to lift 25 lbsFitness club environmentMust follow OSHA and Active Wellness safety standards
