The Business Development & Sales Representative is a hybrid position located out of Spokane, WA and is responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with our current customers as well as bringing in new business. Taking care of our current and prospective customers requires constant fast action, project management, customer service, innovation, initiative, and relationship building.

In Business Development, in order to be successful, one must be able to maintain and build our current customer sales while helping them with new and innovative ways to build their business. The focus and mission of the Business Development Representative (BDR) is to add value to our customers by drawing from ones industry experience, introducing new products, and providing consulting services that result in increased efficiencies and improved financials for our customers.

For National Sales, this job requires an experienced salesperson with an extensive specialty coffee background and who is driven to continue to learn and grow. This person must be an energetic and enthusiastic individual, able to obtain new accounts locally and nationally from coffee shows, cold calling and call in leads in their area. Sales Team members must have a natural, contagious, and engaging personality with the ability to be creative and resourceful.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Business Development 50%

  • Business development and sales for 20-40 medium to large accounts.
  • Maintain quality relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of customer specific business needs.
  • Consulting for business profitability.
  • Business audits and action plan assistance.
  • Liaison between customer and Dillanos for all artwork projects, systems, packaging, shipping concerns, etc.
  • Conduct customized trainings.
  • Consistently meet customer contact & visit expectations according to customer volume.
  • Negotiation and troubleshooting to ensure customer retention.
  • Expected to meet customer growth goals by proactively introducing existing customers to additional product and coffee offerings such as B22, DCR, & One Harvest coffees. Growth expectations set on an annual basis by management and evaluated every 3 months.
  • Knowledge of espresso and brewing equipment to assist with customer questions, troubleshooting, and sales.
  • Assisting customers with emergency situations including emergency deliveries and being available after office hours.
  • Work with other departments as needed to implement new systems, new product forms, warehouse agreements, special products for promotion, etc.

National Sales 50%

  • Cold calling independently sources local and national coffee accounts.
  • Local and national trade show involvement and networking.
  • Traveling across the country to solicit and bring in new business.
  • Signing up new accounts to meet average of $1800 in new business per monthly commission period.
  • Project Manager for all tasks involving marketing and/or acquisition of new business.
  • Any additional duties as Sales Supervisor sees fit to assign.

Job Prerequisites

Must have reliable transportation as local travel is a requirement

Able to work odd hours as needed

Detail oriented and organized

Extensive computer skills (MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)

Demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for coffee

Café management operations and/or training experience preferred

1 year of sales experience preferred

Reliable transportation & WA State Drivers License
