Technical Sales Representative for NDT products is responsible for developing a sales strategy for a defined territory, implementing the sales plan, and promoting and demonstrating the company’s products and services with the goal of attaining a sales target.

The Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for knowing the technical features of all the products within their portfolio and be able to effectively demonstrate the products to the customer.

In addition to technical knowledge, the Technical Sales Representative will also be responsible for knowing how to perform and manage the selling process of a technical selling cycle.

Since this is an outside sales position, the Technical Sales Representative will be expected to travel much of the time to meet customers for the purpose of product demonstrations and selling product.
Job Duties
Work directly with customers to demonstrate the value of Olympus equipment and drive sales within a defined territory.

Establish and maintain relationships with key industrial accounts.

With support of Marketing, prospect new business opportunities to proactively increase sales revenue.

Execute all phases of sales cycle including Prospecting, Qualifying, Positioning, Demonstrating, Negotiating, Closing, Installing, and Training for Olympus solutions.

Develop new accounts within targeted markets while taking market share from competitors.

Create and execute focused industry and account specific sales campaigns to create new sales opportunities.

Manage time effectively to maximize time-in-field, maintaining a high level of customer activity to drive sales.

Provide appropriate post-sale support to customer base including installation, training, and troubleshooting.

Provide input to Area Sales Managers, Marketing Department and others as requested by management.

Attend trade shows, seminars, product/sales training, and sales meetings, as necessary.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent sales experience required.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in high end capital equipment sales or similar.

Approximately 50% travel within a given territory.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Professional selling and territory management skills a strong asset.

Industrial inspection, NDT, Eddy Current experience a strong asset.

Ability to navigate a technically complex product and sale.

Creative, strategic, problem-solving skills a strong asset.

Excellent verbal and written communication/interpersonal skills with basic aptitude in MS Office.

Self-motivated and goal oriented.
