Early Learning Teacher

Lilac City Early Learning Center

This is a Full-time position in Spokane, WA posted November 25, 2021.

The Lilac City Early Learning Center staff is excited to add to our team.

We are looking for a dependable, caring teacher to serve as an Assistant Teacher, working in one of our Toddler classrooms.

We recently completed a remodel to add an additional classroom to the existing facility.

All of our toddler classrooms will be a 1:4 ratio with a group size of 8 or less, and will serve children ages 1 year to 3 years in the Early Head Start program along with peers enrolled in the center privately.

Applicants could also be considered for Float staff positions that work in multiple classrooms with more flexibility for scheduling; college students are encouraged to apply for this.

Job duties include:
*To arrive ready to work at scheduled time and be prepared to stay until shift is over.

*Plan both long and short range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy.

*Meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child *Assist in completing quarterly assessment of children’s development *Participate in Parent-Teacher conferences *Maintain daily open communication with parents *Maintain confidentiality *Arrange a classroom environment in accordance to program goals and philosophy *Maintain a safe and healthy environment *Inspect and replace damaged or lost materials *Attend in-service and staff meetings *Supervise aides and volunteers in the classroom *Keep all appropriate records such as attendance, medication, incident reports and time sheets *Meet all applicable licensing regulations *Wear child friendly clothing and accessories *Meet Early Head Start qualifications *Update and maintain online records through MERIT
All applicants must have, or be willing to obtain upon hire, Physical exam, Negative TB Test (past 12 months), Proof of MMR and COVID-19 Vaccination or Exemption, Blood Borne Pathogens training, WA Food Handlers Certificate, Infant/Child CPR & First Aid Certification, Background Check, DCYF Mandatory Trainings (online) and 30 Hour Basic STARS training (within 90 days of hire).

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays and Saturdays.

Compensation is $15.00
– $19.49/hour.
