Cafe Store Manager

This is a Full-time position in Spokane, WA posted November 22, 2021.

Wake Up Call Coffee is looking for a fun, energetic, go-getter individual with excellent managerial and leadership skills who ensures the daily operation expectations of our coffee shop are met.

The Café Store Manager is responsible for the oversight of the store including providing support to baristas through a variety of tasks related to organization, communication and customer service.

Must be able to effectively communicate via phone, email and in-person, Excellent customer service skills are critical in this role; we love our customers!

Must possess coffee centric skills with pour-overs, latte art, cuppings and familiar with the roasting process.

Requirements & Qualifications:
18+ years
Pass a criminal background check
High School diploma or GED
2+ years experience as barista
1+ years experience managing coffee shop
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Detail oriented
Strong organizational and planning skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Self-motivating and inspiring
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constant interruptions
Availability during operational hours (includes nights, weekends & holidays)
Ability to lift 50lbs
Coffee centric skills
– pour over, latte art, cuppings, roasting profiles
Sample of the duties and responsibilities include:

Customer Service
Deliver legendary customer service to all customers by providing a customer first culture.

Discover and respond to customer needs including explaining menu items and offering suggestions.
Know, prepare and/or serve a variety of hot and cold beverages including coffee, espresso and blended drinks, teas, etc.
Serve customers quickly and efficiently.
Maintains a calm demeanor during high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example.
Accurately handle cash and credit card payments, following appropriate cash-handling procedures
Human Resource Management
Oversee recruitment and the training for Baristas within store
Responsible for professional growth and development of Baristas
Responsible for monitoring performance/customer service and morale of barista
Responsible for handling disciplinary action and termination of baristas (when necessary)
Provide ongoing training as needed regarding new products, promotions, policies etc.
Ensures full understanding and regularly observes and coaches team on their performance, celebrating successes as well as discussing and offering suggestions if more feedback is needed.
Create and provide acceptable staffing levels to ensure store needs are met during busy and slow periods
Store Management
Responsible for store performance based on guest feedback and following up on customer care compliments and complaints
Ensure budget is met for each store
Complete monthly quality assurance reviews to ensure Wake Up Call standards are being met

Responsible for product management including inventory count and ordering products, ensuring product does not run out
Ensure proper execution of new product introductions and marketing programs within store
Complete Food Safety & Sanitation Inspections and follow up when required
Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
Stock necessary supplies and/or products as needed.
Responsible for the maintenance and operations of all equipment; including fixing any equipment that need repair
Conduct random morning, afternoon and evening store visits to ensure compliance with store policies and procedures.
Responsible for creating store action plans to drive store performance around areas of opportunity
Reviews store environments and key business indicators identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement in order to provide coaching to the store management team to take action and achieve operational goals.
Financial Management
Accurately handle cash and credit card payments, following appropriate cash-handling procedures
General Management
Manages with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of Wake Up Call.

Helps to create positive, enthusiastic, and well-trained store culture by providing an informed, honest, and optimistic example for the team.
Plans, identifies, communicates and delegates responsibilities and practices to the baristas to ensure smooth flow of operations within the store
Conducts regular store meetings to review issues related to personnel, upcoming promotions, events, and activities, etc
Responds appropriately to ideas, concerns, complaints, and comments from staff
Models proper attendance, punctuality, customer service, and overall attitude
Compensation:

Wake Up Call offers a competitive compensation package.

This is a full-time roll and is eligible for WUC’s benefit’s package, including medical, prescription and vision insurance; vacation, sick leave and paid holidays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50
– $21.00 per hour
