In addition to serving the urban and suburban population in greater Spokane, including students from Fairchild Airforce Base, CCS provides educational services to rural communities throughout our 12,302 square-mile region in Eastern Washington, including students from the Spokane and other Eastern Washington tribes.Serving about 8,200 students, SFCC endeavors to be an educational leader and a responsive partner with the community and region to provide access to relevant programs of the highest quality. We offer a large liberal arts/transfer program (approximately 75% of total enrollment) as well as state-of-the-art professional technical programs (about 25%). As reflected in our mission statement, we strive to “embrace diversity, promote equity, and foster global awareness” at every level of our college.The Community Colleges of Spokane is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Director of Concurrent Enrollment Programs in the Student Services Division of Spokane Falls Community College.GENERAL DEFINITIONReporting to the Dean of Student Support Services & Student Conduct Officer, this position provides leadership and oversight for SFCC’s Concurrent Enrollment programs.This position will: oversee the development and evaluation of curriculum; ensure programs are compliant with contracts and accreditation standards; and serve as a liaison with regional high schools as well as State and National levels. They will coordinate with Spokane Community College (SCC) and the District Outreach Office.CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide leadership and oversight for the development, expansion, and administration of SFCC’s Concurrent Enrollment programs in accordance with guidelines established by the Community Colleges of Spokane (CCS), the Washington State Board of Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTCs), and the Gateway to College National Network. *Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum/instruction ensuring curriculum fulfills both high school diploma and college degree requirements. *Oversee students’ progress and completion goals in order to provide the best support services to program participants. *Develop and implement an operational plan for Concurrent Enrollment programs that includes budget management to ensure the economical and effective use of the financial resources. *Ensure contract compliance. Assist the Dean with development and negotiation of contracts with school districts and other stakeholders. Responsible for coordination of contracts with current and potential partnerships. Independently consult with program participants and teachers with regard to course setup, registration and payments; provide information regarding program policies and activities and recommend alternative course of action. *Develop and foster collaborative relationships with school districts, community organizations, and other stakeholders. Provide a friendly, supportive and collegial atmosphere for students, faculty, staff, and the public. *Serve as the liaison for SFCC’s Concurrent Enrollment programs at National, State, and Local levels. *Supervise exempt, classified and workstudy employees (train, schedule, evaluate, discipline and respond to grievances). Adhere to classified contracts and all district rules and regulations ensuring efficient operations of programs. *Inform and educate staff about behavior and performance expectations, provide timely and accurate feedback regarding performance, and ensure performance and behavioral problems are corrected promptly and effectively. *In partnership with instruction, review credentials and organize orientation for college and high school concurrent enrollment faculty. *Track and report program enrollment trends, program completion, and retention and placement success. Monitor activities to determine consistency with program goals and ensure timely and accurate information is communicated to the CCSs Business Office. *Monitor and ensure SFCC’s compliance with external regulatory bodies, e.g., National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) for all concurrent enrollment programs. *Prepare a wide variety of materials such as procedures, analyses, and reports in order to provide recommendations about program activities, future trends and issues related to concurrent enrollment. *Support and advance the CCS strategic plan, and perform related duties as required. *Promote concurrent enrollment programs via school and community meetings as well as participation on advisory boards.* Indicates this is an essential duty.COMPETENCIES & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Business or related field from an accredited institution. Or An equivalent mix of education and experience that demonstrates the candidate meets all competency requirements for this position.Three (3) years’ experience coordinating education programs, projects or activities.Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated passion for, commitment to, and success with serving youth.Knowledge of planning, implementation, and monitoring of budgets and contracts.Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to present and exchange complex academic information to individuals and groups.Knowledge of K-12 education system with the ability to interpret regulations and guidelines to remain in compliance.Ability to maintain a high level of confidentially (FERPA) and ethical working practices.The ability to perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with applicable laws, regulations, and goals of the institution, and community and technical college system.Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.Strong grant writing, monitoring, and reporting experience.Proven ability to effectively organize multiple work assignments, involving competing priorities, to produce work products that are accurate, of high quality and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Experience building/leading teams including supervisory skills that focus on continuous quality improvement.Must be detail-oriented for accuracy of work.Acceptance of the responsibility to promote the welfare and best interests of students at all times.A demonstrable understanding and acceptance of the mission, values, goals and objectives of CCS.The ability to perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with applicable laws, regulations and goals of the institution, and community and technical college system.Demonstrated commitment to fostering and supporting a teaching, learning and working environment that honors diversity, equity and inclusion.PREFERRED COMPETENCIES (DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS)Masters’ Degree or higher from an accredited institution.Experience with accreditation standards such as Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities or National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships.Experience with program review processes.Experience working in higher education/post-secondary or dual/concurrent enrollment programs.Demonstrated success in working with diverse populations.Experience working with instruction and student services to ensure student success.CONDITIONS/TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:TOTAL COMPENSATION: $93,162 – $96,733.Total compensation is an estimate based upon adding the following amounts together:Base compensation, plusCurrent employer-paid health and related benefit contribution rates, plusMedian retirement fund contributions.The actual total will vary depending upon each employee’s enrollment choices.Person hired must be able to provide acceptable documentation of U.S. Citizenship or lawful authorization to work in the United States. This is an absolute condition of employment. An offer of employment will not carry with it any responsibility or obligation on the part of the District to sponsor an H1-B visa.
