Leading Insurance Company, AssuredPartners of Washington, is seeking a Compliance Manager to add to their Employee Benefits team!

Salary: Flexible based on experience and full benefits (health, dental, vision, 401K, PTO and more)

Job Location: Remote or In-Office – The ideal candidate can work at 1325 4th Avenue, Suite 2100, Seattle, WA 98101 as needed. However, this role is fully remote eligible for all candidates in the PST & MST time zones.

Work Hours: 8:30 AM to 5 PM

Employee Benefits Compliance Manager Role Summary:

The Compliance Manager will lead office compliance efforts. Serves as a principal resource for compliance and regulatory issues. Trains and educates staff. Works with employee benefits insurance clients to enhance understanding of their compliance requirements. Works with appropriate resources including AssuredPartners, legal, vendors, or industry associations in order to maintain appropriate adherence to laws and regulations.

Employee Benefits Compliance Manager Requirements:

  • 5+ years Employee Benefits & HR Compliance experience, including direct hands-on experience deciphering and communicating federal and state regulations
  • In-depth understanding of Washington State regulation is a huge plus
  • HR Certification (PHR, SPHR) preferred
  • ACA certification preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • The patience and ability to interpret extensive legal documents
  • Exhibits an extremely high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate complex subjects in a clear, concise, and consultative manner
  • Proficient with agency management systems and/or HR software
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint with strong keyboarding skills
  • Commit to, utilize, and follow Agency procedures while remaining adaptive/flexible to changing demands of a growing company

Employee Benefits Compliance Manager Responsibilities Include:

  • Develops educational materials for staff and clients, including Compliance Observer articles, alerts, and presentations
  • Works with Managers to educate staff on compliance requirements
  • Works directly with clients to enhance compliance through meetings, presentations and consultation
  • Develops branded educational materials in conjunction with Corporate Communication team
  • Interprets and summarizes guidance and alerts from credible information sources related to employee benefits and human resources
  • Identifies and communicates key points to staff and clients
  • Responds to requests for information
  • Coordinates efforts with Corporate compliance personnel and with outside legal counsel
  • Monitors the use and effectiveness of compliance tools
  • Ensures that mandatory compliance initiatives are completed properly
  • Monitors compliance-related vendor relationships. Validates costs associated with vendors
  • Reviews and updates Business Associate Agreements with clients
  • Acts as HIPAA Privacy Officer
  • Follows company procedures with respect to all essential duties and responsibilities of the job
