Manager-Project Management

This is a Full-time position in Spokane, WA posted January 11, 2022.

Northwest Farm Credit Services is in search of a Manager to join our Project Management department in our Spokane Headquarters location.

As a member-owned financial cooperative, we help business owners in agriculture, forestry and fisheries secure the financing they need to operate and grow, and the crop insurance they need to protect their livelihoods.

Our customers are primarily located in Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Alaska.

This full-time position reports to the Director-Enterprise Project Management and is primarily accountable for managing project managers within the Project Management Office (PMO) to support organizational strategic objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manages project management and/or product management function to ensure programs, projects and continuous delivery meet organizational goals and objectives in accordance with the Northwest FCS’ project management and product management methodologies.
Performs senior level project management activities to manage projects to successful completion within scope, schedule and budget.
Collaborates with stakeholders at all levels to ensure intended outcomes are clearly defined and achieved.
Directs project management staff and works closely with third-party service providers, contractors and vendors on their assigned projects to ensure technology provider service quality.
In collaboration with the Director-Enterprise Project Management and peer Manager, evaluates workflow to determine priorities and ensure appropriate resource allocation.
Oversees project managers throughout the course of the project and/or in their role on a product delivery team to ensure expectations are being met.
Stays current on industry best practices in project and product management and continuously evolves PMO processes and procedures.
Ensures complete, up-to-date information is maintained in project and product portfolio systems.
Maintains a strong working knowledge of Northwest FCS business practices, products and key systems.
Provides leadership for assigned staff, including effective performance management, identification of learning needs, and development of training plans.
Actively works with assigned staff to advance stewardship and community service initiatives.
Performs all duties and maintains all standards in accordance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls, and ensure assigned staff follow association policies, procedures and internal controls.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, information systems, computer science, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven ability to lead by example as an individual contributor or manager.
Ability to effectively identify, hire, and develop strong talent, and maintain a high performing team.
Generally requires at least five years’ progressively complex and successful experience in project management, product management, or similar functions, including increasing depth of professional knowledge and experience in successfully leading large, complex projects and programs involving executive stakeholders across multiple business disciplines and multiple third parties.
Advanced knowledge of project management, product management and agile methodologies, as well as an understanding of organizational change management and business analysis concepts.
Proven success in working with aggressive schedules and ambiguous requirements.
Effective leadership skills and demonstrated ability to influence change, and to encourage and motivate team members.
Effective writing skills with demonstrated ability to research and clearly communicate business information.
Ability to work independently with broad direction of objectives and expected outcomes.
