Mortgage Loan Operations Manager

Northwest Farm Credit Services is in search of a Mortgage Loan Operations Manager (internally known as Operations Manager) to join our Country Home Lending (CHL) team in our Spokane Headquarters location.

As a member-owned financial cooperative, we help business owners in agriculture, forestry and fisheries secure the financing they need to operate and grow, and the crop insurance they need to protect their livelihoods.

Our customers are primarily located in Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Alaska.

This full-time position reports to the Senior Vice President of the CHL program and is responsible for providing effective leadership and direction to the CHL Operations team to ensure CHL portfolio compliance and administration.

Essential Duties:
Ensures the association’s CHL portfolio is in compliance with federal and state documentation expectations, submission timelines, procedures, laws, and regulations.
Responsible for the conduct of all daily team activities, including evaluating procedures, structure, and internal controls on an on-going basis to assure exceptional customer service and maximize team efficiency.
Oversees centralized consumer disclosure processes to ensure accurate compliance information is provided to all consumer loans across the association.
Manages workflow to determine priorities and ensure appropriate resource allocation to provide appropriate support coverage for phone and electronic process communication channels.
Responsible for proactive portfolio management, ensuring processes that result in acceptable credit quality and credit classification, and that loans are closed in compliance and a first lien position; approves credit actions within delegated authority.
Ensures reporting requirements are met; provides accurate, timely data on all portfolios serviced, processing activities, budget information, etc.
Establishes appropriate monitoring systems and accurately informs management of concern areas.
Provides leadership for assigned staff, including effective performance management, identification of training needs, and development of training plans, and ensures assigned staff follow association policies, procedures and guidelines.
Communicates and exemplifies Northwest FCS’ commitment to employee and customer engagement; actively works with assigned staff to advance Stewardship and Community Service initiatives.
Provides input regarding team budget, staffing and volume forecasts.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years’ progressively responsible credit or underwriting experience.
NMLS certification and licensing required at hire or within 90 days of assumption of role
Knowledge of credit underwriting policies strong understanding of credit principals and ability to read and interpret customer financial documents.
Understanding of real estate laws, consumer compliance regulations, and lien perfection legal requirements.
Solid understanding of the purpose of loan documents and real estate title.
Knowledge of regulations and laws applicable to agricultural and consumer lending.
Ability to effectively handle a variety of customer service situations.
