OverviewThe Operations Manager of systems, process and projects is responsible for the successful achievement of corporate and department projects, vendor relationships, system functionality and process improvement involving Operations.The role requires that the individual has the ability to lead and manage the stream of projects involving Operations, serve as the primary subject matter expert for Operations as needed to support corporate projects and system issues/functionality, manage Operations owned vendor relationships, and utilize systems to analyze Operational performance to recognize and implement process improvements. We succeed because we live out our OneTeam Values, accountable, courage, curious, inclusive and integrity.Responsibilities* Be a Subject Matter Expert on Operational processes.* Anticipate and plan for project and systematic needs involving Operations and recommend improvements.* Demonstrate the ability to continuously improve Operational effectiveness and efficiency in providing outstanding service to members and providers as well as internal stakeholders.* Participate in and lead process improvement activities.* Oversee and report on the project stream within Operations and track the resources being utilized.* Recognize gaps in the ability of Operations to effectively work on projects and carry out processes successfully and recommend tactics/ideas to fill gaps as needed.* Partner with Operations Managers on resource allocation for project requests.* Collaboratively work with other areas of the organization and within Operations to achieve department goals.* Develop and maintain vendor relationships and effect processes.* Guide direct team and collaborate with Operations Leadership in process improvement and automation efforts.* Quick and effective issue resolution, team focus on enhanced system functionality, and Bot learning and utilization.* Perform and lead team in data analysis tied to actionable and measurable change.* Represent Operations interests while leading/participating on various DDWA committees, teams, workgroups, and projects.* Stay abreast of project management and product team practices within DDWA and pursue continuously improving the department’s ability to move with speed and effectiveness.* Support Director of Operations and Senior Manager in decisions regarding systems, process, and projects.* Serve as a coach and mentor on project skills/competencies to improve the development of Operations employees selected to work on projects.* Work closely with training Supervisor on training, communication, and documentation needs.* Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external parties (specifically the Digital team).* Drive highly functioning Operations systems/services with rapid change management.* Lead high performing team of system analysts, software, and system administrators.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.* Prior supervisory or management experience within DDWA’s Operations environment* Prior training experience is preferred* Detailed understanding of DDWA Operational Systems and Processes* Deep experience in working on corporate and department level projects with a track record of success* Excellent presentation/facilitation, organizational, analytical, interpersonal and written/oral communication skills* Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick accurate decisions* Self-confident, self-directed, able to communicate findings, make recommendations, and facilitate change* Strong passion for delivering outstanding customer service* Strong business and financial acumen desired with a passion for process improvement* Strong planning, forecasting, problem-solving and analytical skills* High level of commitment, initiative, vision, and enthusiasm* Ability to build working relationships with all levels of the organization and across business units* Ability to be flexible, innovative, and work in an ambiguous environment* Keen interest in and knowledge of computer technologies* Vendor relationship management or similar preferredEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree preferred, a minimum of 5 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Delta Dental of Washington is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
