Safety Manager

The Safety Manager is responsible for daily safety processes, emergency response planning, workers compensation and liability insurance programs.

This position will support management aspects of interaction, including personnel safety, overseeing health and safety documentation (policies and procedures) and program implementation, communication with all Teammates.

In addition, the Safety Manager is responsible for adhering to corporate policies, establishing accountability goals, including recommended disciplinary or remedial actions for safety incidents or policy violations, and acting as a role model to ensure all procedures are followed as required.What you’ll be doing:Work with Teammates across the organization to promote a culture of safety by ensuring program adoption and compliance.Conducts safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow up assessments.Oversee and coordinate motor vehicles records.Oversee and implement processes for reporting, investigating, and documenting motor vehicle collisions/incidents as well as other safety incidents and workers compensation claims.Conduct risk assessments and report findings with recommended solutions to company leadership.Periodically review and audit file reports for accuracy and completeness as needed.Respond quickly to and be on call as needed to respond to any safety incidents.Lead training and safety awareness initiatives focused on incident prevention and best practices.Develop materials and conduct ongoing training for motor vehicle operations and vehicle inspections related to safety programs and policies.Works with training program peer managers to align on goals, initiatives, updates, and training targets.Collaborate with the development of e-learning modules as part of ongoing vehicle operator and inspections safety training.Provide concise, clear, and accurate verbal and written feedback regarding all aspects of the operation.All other job duties as assigned.What you will need:People first approach and commitment to excellenceBachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required5 years of relevant experience in safety management or similar field of practiceMinimum of 2 years supervisory experience preferredWorking knowledge of federal, state, and local safety laws, particularly OSHA standardsExperience required in Workers Compensation management including incident reporting, accident investigation, claim reviews and OSHA required reporting including OSHA 300 and OSHA 301.Ability to analyze and identify risk trends, problems, and solutionsAbility to work in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environmentAbility to travel as neededValid driver’s licenseOperations and logistics experience and understandingOrganization skillsExcellent communication skillsTechnically proficient and be able to use G-Suite, Microsoft Windows productsConduct themselves in a professional mannerWhat we will offer:Comprehensive benefits offerings for benefits eligible Teammates.Unique culture that truly values each and every Teammate.Career development and future growth opportunities.At ACV, we are committed to an inclusive culture in which every individual is welcomed and empowered to celebrate their true selves.
